About Autohaus Fritz

We have been selling American cars since 1992. We started with Chrysler and Jeep; today we sell Jeep, RAM, Dodge and Chrysler and import US vehicles to Germany ourselves. The dealership is in Oppin, right by the A14 motorway, just outside Halle (Saale).

Our history

  1. 1992: Starting out with Chrysler and Jeep

Autohaus Fritz was founded in 1992. Its first brands were Chrysler and Jeep, two American names that are still part of the business today. Ten years later, Dodge followed as the next American brand.

  2. 2002: Dodge and our own imports

In 2002 Dodge was added, and in the same year we began importing vehicles ourselves. Since then the dealership has been an independent importer of US vehicles: it brings models to Germany that are not offered here, or only in a different version. Before such a vehicle can be registered in Germany, an expert has to inspect it individually. What this involves is explained on the US cars page.

  3. Today: Sales, workshop and imports in one place

Today we have 64 vehicles in stock, 60 of them from American brands. The business also includes its own workshop with servicing for LPG systems, finance and leasing through partner banks, and part exchange for your current car. Our customers come from the region and from abroad, as far away as South America; for buyers abroad we take care of export plates, customs papers and transport as needed. Finance and leasing, however, are only available to buyers resident in Germany. The managing director is Lutz Fritz.

Why US vehicles from Oppin

American cars have their own requirements: different spare parts, often different electrics from the European version, and large engines. Spare parts are best ordered by vehicle identification number rather than by model name. Anything that was modified for German registration must still match its approved condition after a repair.

That is why sales and workshop belong together here. What we sell, we also service and repair, and the workshop also takes US vehicles that were bought elsewhere or imported by their owners. If you drive a large petrol car, you can have it converted to LPG here, provided the engine is suitable. The details are on the LPG systems page.

In Oppin, right by the A14 motorway

Oppin is part of the town of Landsberg in the Saalekreis district, north-east of Halle (Saale). The dealership is on Dessauer Straße, about one and a half kilometres from the A14 exit Halle-Tornau. It is about ten kilometres from the market square in Halle, a little over forty from Leipzig and just under ninety from Magdeburg. Directions are on the contact and directions page.

We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 17:00, and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:00 for sales only; the workshop is closed on Saturdays. If you would like a test drive, it is best to call ahead so that the vehicle is ready for you.
